Spring Has Sprung

Which in our family means

Camping....

and

Football...

Well it was a bit too cold to go camping a few weeks ago, but we were too excited with all of our camping stuff... so we set up camp...

In our apartment....

In the Gilbert family we have a joke saying we always need the "bigger hammer" well... apparently Dustin fits right in, because the tent he bought is an 8 man, 18 x 11 foot tent.... it took up most of our living room! Our neighbors came over when we had set it all up and were chillin in the tent with us and said "You guys need to buy some blow up furniture on Ebay and you can have a living room and bedroom when you're up camping!"
The HUGE tent and my very proud husband setting it up

Eventually it warmed up enough to REALLY go camping- but it was tax season so we didn't have time... so we had to go as soon as we could! This last weekend Dustin and I, his 4 best friends, and their wives all went camping up in Thistle! It was so much fun!

Friday night we just hung out, sat by the camp fire, talked, played games, and watched a movie on the projector...

Saturday morning we had to get up early because the boys all had a football game up in Provo at 9:30... it's their second to last game of the season, and I finally took some pictures... oops!

Dustin was the "offensive coordinator" this game because their playing hasn't exactly been ideal lately- so they turned offensive play calling over to him, and defensive play calling over to his cousin!

This is Dustin and Chance- they have been best friends since junior high- they really are more like brothers than best friends... it's kinda ridiculous! Chance's wife and I were saying the other day that it's a good thing we really like each other, because both of our husbands have informed us that it wouldn't matter if we didnt.... we have to be friends... it's not an option :)

This play was with a minute left in the game... and Dustin got hurt... He has a really really bad high ankle sprain! Everybody at the game was determined it was broken except Dustin, who had it confirmed by my sparty pants sister and brother in law... the medical geniuses in our family. His foot is about 2x it's normal size and bruised down into his toes... it's nasty!

After the game, we headed back up to Thistle and Dustin and I went on a 4-wheeler ride to try out his new scope for his 22 that he got for his birthday!
(he thinks he's pretty bad-a)
It was so pretty! Of course, I love nothing more than being around farm/ranch ground so I was in heaven!!! I realized that I took like 50 nature shots.... and one of Dustin and I. As previously stated... I fail!

Then it was hunting time....

Rock Chuck #1- you can't really see it on this pic unless you blow it up, but it's on the red wood pile....

My husband shooting rock chuck #1...

All the boys playing Annie-Oakley.... They are all awesome shots so it was impossible to get a video of more than one of them shooting at the clay pigeons... so I just chose one where Dustin shot!

I Struggle.... It's Official

Ok so my blogging has CLEARLY hit a rough patch....

Let's blame it on a few things....

actually....

Just one....

TAX SEASON!!!!!!

But don't worry- it's over!!!!

Here's a few things we have done the last couple weeks:
-Dustin turned 23 so we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner/Cake (who doesn't want Cheesecake for their birthday cake?) and then to the Golf Store to pick out a new Putter- we tried every single putter until he found the one he loved!!

- Oregon!!! We went up to visit my family in Oregon... and it was a hit! Dustin loved in and informed me on multiple occasions that we will be moving there! DONE!!!!!!!! YAY! I married somebody who loves it as much as I do!!!!

-Ignored my apartment and am now regretting it because it's a disaster... if anybody is in need of service hours let me know! You can come clean for me! :)

Sadly, that's about all we've been up to! But Tax Season is over and it's 82 degrees outside... which in the Gilbert Family means one thing...

IT'S BOATING SEASON!!!

Time to get the boat out, Bop!!!!

This One's For You....

So I thought since my sister's in Vegas and can't see my wedding video.... and her kids are basically the stars of it.... that I'd post them on here for her and Miss Erika Lynn to see! Sorry that they kinda over lap- I was too lazy to do a good editing job :) The actual video is 73 minutes long with pictures, reception, luncheon, and temple but I decided to just do the temple part for now- then do the reception later.... and the other stuff? Meh, nobody cares about but me and Dustin really :)

Erika,

when I watched this video and saw you coming to see me right after I walked out of the temple it made me so happy again! Thanks for being my best friend and little angel!! You made my wedding day so special! Thank you for all of your help! I can't wait til it is your turn to be sealed in the temple to your Prince for all of eternity! You better believe your Aunt Becca Boo will be there!!!

I love you princess!!!

Love,

Aunt Becca Boo

It's A Done Deal

(Check out the Nike's people- I'm no dummy! No reason to have freezing, aching feet on my wedding day!!!)

Our temple sealing was absolutely amazing! Given, I have never been to another sealing before, but everybody who was in the temple said what an absolutely incredible, spiritual, and doctrinally sound sealing it was.

Our sealer was amazing and before we were sealed he took Dustin and I into a different sealing room to talk to us a bit and during that discussion he said, "Just so you know, I will not give you any advice. That is why you have parents, siblings, friends, and bishops. I am here to teach and guide you." And he did just that. It was amazing! It was the best feeling ever to stand from the altar and know that I am sealed to Dustin for eternity! It was the most peaceful moment of my life. Amazing!!!

So here are some pics of the big day....

(Here's a quick shout out- but my photographer was absolutely INCREDIBLE!! She and I actually cheered together in high school and I started following her photo blog back when she first started it, and have LOVED her style! She is so amazing! When we decided to get married, Jessie was the first person I contacted to make sure I had her booked for my big day! She was there for EVERYTHING, every minute of the reception, temple, and luncheon and we felt so comfortable! I hate getting my picture taken- I prefer to be behind the camera- but it was so fun and easy and the pictures turned out incredible!!! Thanks Jess!!! You are amazing!)

Walking out of the temple.... Of course we had to kiss!

Almost everybody that was at the temple to support us! We have such amazing family and friends!

Our awesome, supportive friends, who took the day off work and school to come support us!

Ooh lala

My amazing in-laws... minus Mary Beth (Dustin's sister) who left on her mission to Lansing, Michigan 9 days before our wedding! Dustin and I missed her and her big smile and hugs more than we thought possible!

My GINORMOUS family!! I didn't realize how big our family is now until I was looking through our photos- it is slightly bigger than it was 5 years ago when it was just Mom, Dad, Jen, Mike, and me!

My siblings and their spouses- and yes, my brothers and my bro-in-law are dorks. But for some reason I still claim and love them. Weird.

Poor Dustin had no idea what he was getting into- everybody knows Aunt Becca Boo is the favorite... Now Uncle Dustin is too I guess!!!

My AMAZING Uncles drove all the way down from Oregon, which meant SO much to me! Anybody that knows me knows how much these men mean to me and how much I look up to, and respect them. When they both said they were coming down I was so humbled- especially since they are not only ranchers, but CPA's and my wedding was 2 days before a major tax deadline! Thanks Uncle Allen, Aunt Pam, Uncle Dale, Aunt Les, and Garrity for putting forth such a HUGE effort! It means so much to me!

And now... a few pictures of the lovey dovey people!

WARNING... Completed...

Long Post Ahead!!!!

(Don't say I didn't warn you)

When Dustin and I decided to get married we both agreed we didn't want the traditional, high stress, "do everything in one day" wedding.... so we decided to space things out a bit... stick with Gilbert Tradition...

So we had our reception the night BEFORE we got married and it was honestly the best decision we made in terms of planning our wedding! We thoroughly enjoyed the entire night, and the next day we were able to completely focus on the sealing, and then have a fun luncheon with our close friends and family! It was so great!!!

We had our reception at the Sleepy Ridge Golf Course Club House up in the sunset room and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! I very highly recommend them to EVERYBODY. They are amazingly easy to work with and the building is truly incredible!

Anyway... here are just a snipit of pics of the reception (seriously our photographer is INCREDIBLE and we have HUNDREDS of pics from the reception alone! It is awesome!)

...The dress....

I honestly fell in LOVE with my dress the first time I tried it on. Everybody said "you'll know when you find 'the dress'" I call BS... but it's true...
(This is in the bridesroom at Sleepy Ridge... amazing!)

...Getting Ready...

My momma helping me get dressed :)

...The Location....

In the words of Hoppes...
"Bec, how does it feel to know that you had your reception in a castle?"

....The Couple...
Dustin and I hanging out in the bridesroom. It was amazing! The room was HUGE so our entire family was able to hang out in there and change and get ready and do whatever we wanted! It rocked!

...The Centerpieces

I had absolutely NO idea what I wanted to do for centerpieces, nor did I care if we're gonna be honest. Thankfully my mom and my INCREDIBLE florist came up with these amazing ideas to keep it feeling "wintery."

Our picture table

...The People Who Made This Night Perfect...

Little Miss Erika Lynn was my biggest helper!! I don't know what I would have done with out her to help me carry my train and just make me smile all night long!
My amazing in-laws... Minus Mary Beth of course... she left on her mission to Lansing Michigan 8 days before this! We missed her and her amazing, bubbly personality so much, but are so proud of her for serving so faithfully! LOVE YOU MB!

Mi Familia- minus Debbie, Eduardo, and Camila. Our family has grown a bit in the last 4.5 years huh?
My "Flower Girls" and "Ring Bearer" Erika, and Mya (missing Camila) and cute Mr. Landon thought he looked rather studly in the tux. He kept running around saying "I'm Handsome!"
My Best-Friend Amber and I- the 12 other pictures of us are just of us laughing so hard that our faces are contorted into very abnormal positions... so I figured I'd show off my awesome shoes. My bridesmaids all wore black high heels... They were all jealous when they realized I was wearing Nike Running shoes... Yup- I'm a smart bride- I was comfy all night!

My Bridesmaids- yes there are a lot of them...
From L to R
Chelsy ( sis in law) Cassie (friend who hooked Dustin and I up), Amber Maree Hall (best friend) Me, Jen (Big Sis), Ashley (Dustin's little sister) and Donelle (friend)
The Groomsmen. From L to R: Landon (Dustin's bro), Zac (Cassie's bro- hooked Dustin and I up), Chance (Dustin's Best Friend), Dustin, Adam (Dustin's Cousin), Landon (my nephew), Aaron (My bro in law), Michael (my bro)

The Food....

We decided to do something a little different. No need for Chicken Salad on Croissant Sandwiches for us (no offense to those of you who had those at your wedding... I just hate chicken salad!)

We went for Crepes!!! And they were TO DIE FOR! Marvellous Catering did an incredible job! They looked amazing and tasted even better! I can't even tell you how many people have come up to us since and commented on how amazing the food was and how fun it was to have something different!

A Wee Little Preview

.... I have no free time whatsoever....
...None...
That's the beauty of tax season!

... But here's a quick preview anyway....
(this is mainly for you Miss Erika Lynn- and for you Jennifer Lynn as well)

ENJOY!
