Half Way To..... 46???

Ok first of all: Don't mock the title.... I'm out of creative juices!

Secondly: My husband ROCKS!!!!! He surprised me with the best birthday weekend EVER!

I came home from work and opened my presents... He bought be the CUTEST dress ever (that I wear WAY too much because it's so dang comfy)
And Sanuk flip flops made out of Yoga Mat!! They are so ridiculously fun to wear because they're so comfy! Clearly my hubby knows I love comfy things!!

Then we hit the road! My dad hooked us up with a villa up at the Marriott Summit Watch in Park City. Dad is on the Marriott Board and takes good care of us...

And yes, we did wake up to a few inches of snow.... on May 22nd!

WELCOME TO UTAH

And I've discovered I am REALLY bad at taking pictures! This is the only photo I took all weekend! The other ones I kifed off the internet :)

And really.... what would a trip to Park City be without hitting up the outlets?

Every single store had KILLER sales and we literally blew through all my birthday money in a couple hours! It was SO fun!!! Thanks Lynn and Cindy, Lance and Mindy (haha I love that my parent's and my in-law's names are so similar) for the cash- and the new wardrobe it bought me :) I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Precious Time

So when my cousin got married in September, my mom took a bunch of pictures of me with my grandparents.... I never thought I'd be as grateful for those photos as I am now.

You see, a couple weeks ago my grandma went over to my aunt's house with what appeared to be stroke symptoms (droopy face, no movement on half of her body, etc.). From what I understand, the symptoms continued to get worse and so last Wednesday my aunt to her to a doctor's appointment. Little did we know that appointment forever changed our lives.

That one appointment turned into a whole day and night of appointments, ending in being hospitalized with severe diabetes. The bad thing is, the diabetes was the least of our concerns.

Grandma was diagnosed with two inoperable brain tumors, one of which is the size of an orange.... hence the stroke symptoms. After a week full of lots of tears, fears, and a million questions, we finally have some answers.

Unfortunately they aren't good ones.

Grandma and Grandpa have decided that they want to go ahead and do radiation on the tumor to see if it would shrink and allow her some more time with us. The doctors have given us a very grim diagnosis, four to six months at the most.

This is one of those times that I am incredibly grateful for modern medicine. This is not Grandma's first bout with cancer, and I am so grateful she has survived through all the other times she has had it so we could have time to grow close. It's really hard, sad, and scary to realize that we only have a few short months with her, but I am so grateful for this time that I can learn all that I can from her, that I can do all I can to help her, love her, and make her comfortable.

I am also so grateful that I have a loving, supporting husband who is willing to carry me into bed when I am crying so hard to walk, who will just lay there and hold my hand knowing that nothing either of us say will make the situation better, and who is a worthy priesthood holder who can give me a blessing of comfort when I need it. This trial is just that, a trial. But I am so grateful for my amazing husband who is supporting me through it!

School's Out.....

which means it's BOATING TIME!!!

Ok, I know I am over a month behind on blogging....

This was our first boating trip out for the summer, and my cute Hub's first time on our boat!

First we had to Load the boat:
Good thing we had Erika and her new Jeep to bring stuff to us :)
I thought she looked like a total Cali Girl with a Surf Board in the back of her jeep haha

Thankfully Uncle Dustin kept the kids busy by running around and around pulling them on a sled...

Sometimes they biffed it.... but they laughed every time!

Then... it was off to the Lake!
Me and my cute Husband! Don't worry- the hair and earrings didn't stay on long! I had just finished getting ready when Dad called and said we were going to the lake!

Some people were FREEZING..... (aka Grandma Cindy Lu)

Some thought it was a bit too hot to wear a shirt.... Or he just wanted to show off.... (My cousin Kurt)

Mya wasn't exactly sure how to feel about her life jacket.... don't worry- she's used to it after a week at Powell!
And then.... it was ego boost time!!!!

Michael and Kurt had a trick competition without it being a "competition" They both busted out a bunch of flips and Supermen, but for some reason, this was the favorite trick of the day....
